Russia Registers 15 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

Russian ceasefire monitors in Syria have registered 15 truce breaches in the war-torn country over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th August, 2018) Russian ceasefire monitors in Syria have registered 15 truce breaches in the war-torn country over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday.

Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 15 cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (5), Hama (1) and Aleppo (9). The Turkish side has registered two cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Idlib (1) and Aleppo (1)," the ministry said in its daily bulletin.

The ministry added that while no new deliveries of humanitarian aid were made by its reconciliation center for Syria, over 200 Syrians received medical aid.

No additional local truce agreements were signed, with the number of armed groups adhering to the ceasefire still at 234.

Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the crisis-torn country.
