WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th August, 2018) Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey will testify before the US House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee on September 5 about how the company monitors its content, Committee Chairman Greg Walden said in a press release.
"Dorsey will testify before the [Energy and Commerce] Committee the afternoon of Wednesday, September 5, 2018, regarding Twitters algorithms and content monitoring," the release said on Friday.
Walden noted that Twitter remains a very powerful online tool because it allows news to reach large audiences very quickly.
The Energy and Commerce Committee is prepared to ask Dorsey tough questions about Twitter policies and the companys judgment in conducting monitoring, Walden said.
Twitter and the executives of the other leading social media platforms have been invited to testify in Congress on several occasions following reports of security breaches and the issue of fake accounts.
