Massachusetts Students March For Stricter Gun Control In US - Reports

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th August, 2018) About 40 students in the US state of Massachusetts marched to the headquarters of gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson in an effort to call for stricter gun control in the United States, local media reported on Thursday.

Students, including one of the survivors from Parkland school shooting, and gun advocated set off from Worcester City Hall in Massachusetts on Thursday morning, ABC news reported. They will cover 50 miles and arrive to the Smith & Wesson's Springfield office by Sunday for a demonstration.

The protesters reportedly held signs denouncing gun violence and the National Rifle Association. Among their demands, the protesters called on Smith & Wesson to contribute $5 million to gun violence research.

The United States has faced a wave of nationwide demonstrations and school walk-outs against gun violence, as well as calls for stricter firearms controls.
