EU's Ryanair Says Reached Agreement With Irish Pilots' Union On Working Conditions, Wages

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd August, 2018) Dublin-based Ryanair low cost airline, whose staff carried out a series of strikes earlier in summer, and the Irish Forsa public service staff union representing pilots managed to reach an agreement on working conditions and wages on Thursday.

"Ryanair today (23 Aug) confirmed that overnight it had reached an agreement with FORSA union and its Irish pilots committee on behalf of Republic of Ireland based pilots," the airline wrote in a tweet said.

The airline added that now the Irish based pilots should vote on the reached agreement, after which it would be taken to the company's board.

According to Ryanair, the two parties were asked by the talks' mediator not to make further comments until the vote.

In July and August, Ryanair pilots in Belgium, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden took strike action in a bid to get better working conditions and higher wages.

Ryanair is the Europe's largest low cost airline, working in 33 countries and operating fights to 1,800 destinations. The airline's personnel comprises about 11,500 people.
