Russia Sends 80th Aid Convoy To East Ukraine - Ministry

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd August, 2018) Russias 80th convoy with relief aid for eastern Ukraine set out Thursday toward the common border, regional emergency authorities told Sputnik.

"A convoy left the Russian Emergencies Ministrys Don rescue center at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time [1:00GMT]," a ministry spokesperson said.

The convoy will deliver over 500 tonnes of baby food, medicine and other medical supplies to civilians in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The previous convoy arrived in Ukraine on July 26. The next one is scheduled for September. Russia has brought over 76,000 tonnes of aid to the war-hit region since August 2014.
