Almost 60% Of Germans Approve Keeping Migrants Eager To Integrate In Country - Poll

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd August, 2018) A total of 58 percent of Germans believe that the rejected asylum applicants should be given a chance to stay in Germany if they demonstrate a desire to integrate in local society, a fresh poll revealed on Wednesday.

According to the INSA poll conducted for the Bild newspaper, the majority of Germans (89 percent) believe that those migrants who refuse to integrate into the European society should be deported to their home countries.

Every third interviewee (31 percent) said that every rejected applicant should be deported, while only four percent oppose the idea of deportation - even of those migrants who do not wish to integrate.

The poll was conducted on August 16-20, with over 3,100 people having participated in it.

According to the German Federal Employment Agency, over 300,000 refugees from Pakistan, Nigeria, Iran, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and Syria were employed in Germany in May, which is a dramatic increase, compared to last year's figures. As of July, 482,000 refugees were officially registered as job-seekers.

The Bild stipulates that the fact that educated asylum seekers, who had integrated into the society, are often still being deported does harm to the German economy.
