Putin, Russian Security Council Members Discuss Russian-US Relations, Syria - Kremlin

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd August, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council in the southern city of Sochi earlier on Wednesday, discussing the bilateral Russian-US relations, among other issues, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The [sides] discussed the current state of the Russian-US relationship, as well as the main obstacles that stand in the way, ahead of the talks between [Russian] Security Council Secretary [Nikolai] Patrushev and [US National Security] Adviser [John] Bolton, which will take place in Geneva," Peskov told reporters.

Peskov said Putin and Security Council members also discussed the Syrian issue at the meeting.

The talks between Patrushev and Bolton will be held on Thursday.
