Karachi administration dislodges 10 illegal cattle markets

Karachi administration in its ongoing crack down against unauthorized cattle markets has removed 10 such illegally established sale points and arrested 12 cattle traders from different parts of the metropolis during past one week.

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Aug, 2018 ) :Karachi administration in its ongoing crack down against unauthorized cattle markets has removed 10 such illegally established sale points and arrested 12 cattle traders from different parts of the metropolis during past one week.

A meeting chaired by Karachi Commissioner, Swaleh Farooqui here on Tuesday to review arrangements made for the Eid ul Adha festival was informed that 12 cattle traders were arrested, during the exercise, for hampering government efforts to maintain system and discipline.

Deputy Commissioners pertaining to different districts in the metropolis said FIRs were registered against violators of the law and needed legal action was underway.

Besides, the removal of considerably large sized markets several makeshift cattle selling points were also said to be abolished ensuring that the sellers or their partners may not collect again at the site.

The DCs also shared in detail, with the Karachi Commissioner, the steps taken by them to avert re-emergence of these illegal markets in any part of Karachi.

DC- Central mentioned that unauthorized markets were dislodged in New Karachi (Sector 11-D) and Ancholi Society while 10 different FIRs were also registered coupled with the arrest of two.

According to DC- East unauthorized selling points of different sizes were removed from Rais Goth, Hub Chowrangi, Pak Colony, SITE, Mominabad and Nishan e Haider Chowrangi in Orangi.

DC - Korangi said a market established on the dried patch of Malir river was dislodged besides those at Qayyumabad and Malir railway line.

Farooqui appreciative of the efforts made for establishment of the writ of law emphasized that citizens must be facilitated in realizing a religious obligation, in accordance to their capacities, with equal care that no inconvenience is caused, in any manner, to the people in general.

He said coordination with KMC and health department was also critically needed to ensurehealth status of the cattle being brought to Karachi with due care to avert associated viral diseases.
