Mobile broadband users cross 57.32 mln mark by July this year

The number of 3G and 4G users in the country have crossed 57.32 million mark by end of July this year as all four operators providing mobile broadband services added 1.24 million subscribers in last seven months.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Aug, 2018 ) :The number of 3g and 4g users in the country have crossed 57.32 million mark by end of July this year as all four operators providing mobile broadband services added 1.24 million subscribers in last seven months.

The number of mobile broadband subscribers was 56.08 million till December 2017.

Statistics issued by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Monday revealed that the number of mobile phone users, on the other hand, reached 150.55 million by same time period as compared to 150.24 million during June 2018, registering an increase of 0.31 million during the period under review.

The operators-wise data showed that Jazz's total count for 3G and 4G users stood at 19.64 million including 15.038 million 3G users and 4.6 million 4G subscribers by July 2018 as compared to 14.83 million (3G) by June, with an increase of 0.208 million.

Jazz 4G users jumped from 4.38 million from June 2018 to 4.6 million by July same year.

Zong's 3G subscribers decreased from 9.267 million during June to 9.228 million by July, while the number of 4G users jumped from 7,353,105 from June to 7,761,412 by the end of July.

Telenor also saw a similar change in 3G/4G subscribers, with the number of 3G users on the network decreasing from 10.511 million by June 2018 to 10.314 million by July 2018.

The number of 4G users increased from 3,115,119 by end June to 3,315,326 by end July 2018.

Ufone added 0.43 million 3G users on its network during month of July as the total reached to 7.060 million by end July 2018 as compared to 6.630 million by end June.

Tele-density for cellular mobile networks increased to 72.83 per cent as compared to 72.81 and broadband subscribersreached 59,549,253 by end July as compared to 58,339,814by end June 2018.
