3612 sanitary workers and officials of Rawalpindi Solid Waste Management Company (RSWMC) and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) will remove entrails and offal of the slaughtered animals on Eid ul Azha.

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Aug, 2018 ) :3612 sanitary workers and officials of Rawalpindi Solid Waste Management Company (RSWMC) and Rawalpindi Cantonment board (RCB) will remove entrails and offal of the slaughtered animals on Eid ul Azha.

According to Managing Director RSWMC Dr Rizwan Ali Sher Dil, the leaves of the staff have been cancelled and 2962 sanitary workers and officials of the department with 342 vehicles to ensure cleanliness during the Eid days.

RSWMC will remove around 7000 tons waste from Rawal and Potohar town areas during Eid-ul-Azha.

"The company has finalized a comprehensive cleanliness plan for Eid-ul-Azha to get rid of entrails and offal of the slaughtered animals. All available resources will be utilized to accomplish the task," the MD said.

He said 142 mini dumpers would be part of the special drive to remove the remains from every nook and corner of the city.

Rawal Town has been divided into four sectors to make cleanliness arrangements effective while a control room would also be set up. All the sectors will work under a control room. The residents have been requested to contact Helpline 1139 for any complaint, he said.

He said banners have been displayed at all main points of the city to create awareness among masses about the cleanliness campaign. 400,000 waste bags will also be distributed to facilitate the citizens, he added.

11 fixed and 23 mobile transfer stations would be set up for the convenience of the residents in the city, he informed.

The citizens particularly living near nullahs have been urged not to throw offal and entrails of sacrificial animals in nullahs and drains.

Meanwhile, RCB has also finalized all the arrangements to dispose of entrails of sacrificial animals.

650 sanitary workers, three sanitary inspectors and 25 supervisors will perform duty in Cantt areas during Eid holidays.

Talking to APP, RCB spokesman Qaiser Mahmood told a comprehensive cleanliness plan for Eid-ul-Azha has been formulated on the special directives of CEO RCB Sibtain Raza under which maximum available resources would be utilized to accomplish the task during Eid holidays.

He said 94 vehicles with a large number of hand-carts would be used to remove garbage, entrails of animals and offal from all Cantonment areas.

The Board has been divided into six sectors to make effective the cleanliness arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha while a control room/complaint cell would also be set up.

He said that the Eid holidays of all the sanitary workers of RCB have been cancelled while officials of the department concerned to ensure cleanliness during the Eid days.

He told that the staff of water supply department of RCB would also be on duty during Eid holidays.

He urged the citizens to cooperate with the sanitary workers and dump entrails of the sacrificial animals and offal at specific collection points from where, these could be removed properly.

He said after completion of the cleanliness task and removal of offal, all collection points and other areas would be cleaned and sprayed.

The Chief Sanitary Inspector Waris Bhatti will supervise the entire operation and remain present in the cantonment office during Eid holidays, he added.

A control main room/complaint cell with 051-9274403 phone number and UAN number 111-07-07-07 will be set up in RCB office which would work round the clock. The complaint centers will also be set up for all wardens of the RCB at Naseerabad, Ashiana Chowk, Gawalmandi, ISI Chowk, Dispensary Ground, Iqbal Palace, Peoples Colony, Dhoke Chaudharian Chowk, Chor Chowk and Dhoke Mustakeem Chowk.

He further said all the wards would have a separate Sanitary Inspector In-charge to clear the areaeffectively.
