Russia Registers 26 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire regime in Syria registered 26 truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded three violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th August, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire regime in Syria registered 26 truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded three violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"The situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable. Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 26 cases of firing in the provinces of Hama (3), Latakia (18) and Aleppo (5). The Turkish side has registered three cases of ceasefire violations in the province of Hama," the ministry's daily bulletin read.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation has held one humanitarian operation, delivering 650 food sets with a total weight of 2.8 tonnes to a settlement in Deir-ez-Zor province. Russian medics also provided assistance to seven civilians, the ministry added.

No new ceasefire agreements have been signed over the past 24 hours. The number of armed formations claiming that they observe the ceasefire regime has not changed either, standing at 234, according to the bulletin.

Russia, Turkey and Iran are the guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria.
