The Karachi premier of the movie was postponed on Sunday night due to censorship issues.
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 20th August, 2018) Upcoming Pakistani movie ‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’ will be release as per schedule – on Eid-ul-Azha.
This was confirmed by Ahad Raza Mir, a cast-member of the movie.
In a tweet on Monday, he said, “Just so everyone knows. No delay in the release of Parwaaz. This is Naya Pakistan.
Earlier on Sunday, the Karachi premier of the movie was postponed due to censorship issues.
According to reports, the movie could not get clearance from the Central board of Film Censors. This had led to speculations that the release of the movie has also been delayed.
Following this, a local media outlet quoted movie producer Momina Duraid that the film's release has been delayed which was actually a press release issued on Eid-ul-Fitr.
The movie was earlier scheduled to be released on Eid-ul-Fitr but the production team had postponed its release citing the release of six other films on Eid-ul-Fitr.
“There are six films releasing this Eid and currently our industry is not strong enough to support the release of so many films together. It is indeed a reason of concern for all the producers as it will be difficult for the films to breakeven if released together, considering the number of screens and shows available," a statement by Momina Duraid had stated.
“In the broader interest of the industry, M&D Films has decided to pull out from the Eid race although PHJ is all set to hit theatres as per the initial schedule. We strongly feel that this is the right thing to do in the current scenario and as members of the fraternity, we need to put aside personal agendas and support each other in order to achieve the greater goal.” Duraid had said.
On Eid-ul-Azha, three Pakistani movies, including Humayun Saeed and Fahad Mustafa’s JPNA 2, Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat’s Load Wedding and Hamza Ali Abbasi and Ahad Raza Mir starrer Parwaaz Hai Junoon, are scheduled to be released.
Parwaaz Hai Junoon is a tribute to Pakistan Airforce. The movie features Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Aamir, Ahad Raza Mir, Shaz Khan, Kubra Khan, Syed Shafaat Ali, Adnan Jaffer, Sikander Vincent, Rachel Viccaji, Mustafa Changezi and Sabeena Syed.
The movie is a Hum tv production and directed by Haseeb Hassan while the script has been written by Farhat Ishtiaq.
