PM Imran shifts to Military Secretary House along with wife

Media reports said that Imran Khan will only spend his weekends in Bani Gala

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 20th August, 2018) Prime Minister Imran Khan has shifted to Military Secretary House along with his wife Bushra Bibi.

According to media reports, Imran Khan has shifted to Military Secretary House from his personal Bani Gala residence. Military Secretary House is located in the PM House colony. Imran Khan will reside in house no. 1.

Media reports said that Imran Khan will only spend his weekends in Bani Gala with his wife.

In his maiden address to the nation after assuming office, PM Imran Khan said the country will begin an austerity drive to reduce debt and announced that he will live in a three-bedroom house instead of the palatial Prime Minister House.

In his victory speech, the prime minister-in-waiting had declined to use Prime Minister’s House. Khan had announced that he would not use the Prime Minister’s House as his residence and that his party would later decide the fate of the building.

Since then, there have been several reports as to where Khan will stay. After assessing the security of Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence, the district administration officials had told the PTI chairman that his residence could not be provided foolproof security as the area was open and vulnerable to threat.

A few options were then given to him, including using an accommodation at the Ministers’ Enclave, which he accepted. He had decided to shift to Speaker House in Ministers’ Enclave in Islamabad instead of Prime Minister House. However, there were several objections on him being shifted to Speaker House as it is a property of Parliament.

Punjab House was then considered for Imran Khan’s residence. The PTI had announced that he will live in the chief minister’s annexe in Punjab House. However, owing to security concerns, PM Imran decided to move to the military secretary’s residence.
