At least 10 people were killed and 24 others were injured in an earthquake on the Indonesian densely populated island of Lombok,
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th August, 2018) At least 10 people were killed and 24 others were injured in an earthquake on the Indonesian densely populated island of Lombok, the Indonesian National board for Disaster Management (BNPB) said on its Facebook page on Monday.
On Sunday, Lombok was hit by a 6.9-magnitude earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at the depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
The Indonesian authorities initially reported about 5 victims.
Earlier in August, the island of Lombok was struck by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake, which was followed by a subsequent series of aftershocks. According to the BNPB figures, the earthquake claimed lives of 436 people and caused damage worth over $345,000.
