Federal Youth Authority celebrates India’s Independence Day

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 19th Aug, 2018) The Federal Youth Authority organised a special event at the Youth Hub in Dubai to celebrate India’s Independence Day, as part of the UAE Youth Global Initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The authority seeks to bring young Emiratis together with young people from around the world as they celebrate their national achievements. On that note, both the UAE and India’s national anthems were played to initiate the event.

The event also brought together a number of prominent young people from both countries, as well as decision makers and artists. The participants explored life in the UAE from a practical and cultural point of view, looked into the prospects for further cooperation between Emirati and Indian youth, and exchanged knowledge and best practices in engaging and empowering youth all around the world.

"Young Emiratis are dedicated to realising the vision of the UAE leadership to reach international status," Shamma Al Mazrui said. "Every day, they demonstrate to the world the outstanding empowerment and support afforded to the UAE youth, and they showcase and share their success and experience with their peers from around the globe, working together to find solutions to the challenges that face young people in all societies."

The minister congratulated India on its Independence Day, particularly young Indian citizens residing in the UAE, who are playing a major role in the advancement of their community, as well as their home country. "We wish the Republic of India continued progress and prosperity, and we urge young people from both our countries to continue to cooperate, exchange knowledge and culture, and build their skills together," she said in conclusion.

On a similar note, Saeed Mohammed Al Nazari, Executive Director of Youth Office, asserted that young Emiratis were committed to disseminating their pioneering experience internationally, sharing it with young people from all around the world. "The UAE has had a pioneering experience in terms of empowering its youth – one of the most successful in the world. These events that bring together young people from around the world are an opportunity to formulate a unified vision that places young citizens at the helm in driving positive change in their societies," he said.

During the event, 28-year-old Emirati chef Khalid Al Saadi and Indian chef Malavika Raghavan prepared a menu for guests inspired by the UAE’s heritage and Indian culture. Troilee Dutta and Soumen Hazra entertained the audience through a musical performance.
