Colombia Hit By 5.6-Magnitude Earthquake - US Geological Survey

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th August, 2018) A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit on Saturday the Caribbean coast of Colombia, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The tremors were registered at 2:39 p. m. local time (19:39 GMT). The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), 35 kilometers north of the town of Acandi.

There are no reports about any victims or damages caused by the earthquake.

Colombia is located in a seismically active zone known as the Ring of Fire and regularly suffers from earthquakes.
