MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th August, 2018) The Russian government considers an increase in taxes on companies' extra revenues to be unreasonable, a spokesman for Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told reporters.
"The government considers it inexpedient to increase the tax burden in connection with the receipt of additional profits by businesses. All decisions on the adjustment of the tax system were adopted earlier, an additional increase in the burden and seizure of profits is not discussed by the government," Siluanov said.
Russian presidential aide Andrey Belousov, in a letter to President Vladimir Putin, proposed earlier that the head of state order to increase budget revenues from the mining and chemical sectors' excess profits because they pay lower taxes than oil and gas companies.
