Money laundering case: Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for Asif Zardari

The court has ordered to arrest Zardari till September 4.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 17th August, 2018) A Banking Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

The court has ordered to arrest Zardari till September 4.

Besides Zardari, the court has also ordered to arrest other fugitives in the Rs 35 billion money laundering case. Arrest warrants have been issued for fugitives, including Nimar Majeed, Aslam Masood and others.

The accused have allegedly laundered money through fake accounts.

Senator Farooq Naek, counsel for the former president, has however contradicted the reports and said that the court has not issued any such orders.

Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur is already on a bail in money laundering case.

The Federal Investigation Agency is investigating 32 people in relation to money laundering from fictitious accounts, including Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur. Zardari’s close aide Hussain Lawai was arrested last month in connection with the probe.
