Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo Elected Balochistan Assembly Speaker

Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) candidate Abdul Quddus Bizenjo was Thursday elected as the 15th speaker of Balochistan Assembly after securing 39 votes against Muhammad Nawaz, the joint candidate of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and Balochistan National Party-Mengal, who got 20 votes.
QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Aug, 2018 ) :Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) candidate Abdul Quddus Bizenjo was Thursday elected as the 15th speaker of Balochistan Assembly after securing 39 votes against Muhammad Nawaz, the joint candidate of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and Balochistan National Party-Mengal, who got 20 votes.
Earlier, the newly elected 59 member assembly cast their votes for the new speaker of Balochistan Assembly.
The Assembly session was chaired by the outgoing speaker Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, who administered oath to the newly elected speaker Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.
Raheela expressing her views said though it was easy to become a speaker, yet it was a tough job. "I feel proud that I was elected as the first female speaker of Balochistan Assembly," she added.
Raheela Durrani felicitated the new speaker on the occasion.
After taking oath, Speaker Bizenjo presented the national flag to the former speaker Raheela Khan.
Bizenjo thanked political parties which supported him through their votes, and said everyone was equal to him and he would strive to take the entire house on board.
He said the members of provincial assembly should ensure implementation of the rules of the house and traditions of Balochistan and urged them to do protest in the house by only observing democratic traditions.
Quddus Bizenjo appreciated the role of ex speaker Raheela Durrani for playing a vital role in Balochistan Assembly during her tenure.
Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo had acted as deputy speaker from June 4, 2013 to May 22, 2015.
