HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Aug, 2018 ) :The Mehran Workers Union of Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) has warned of blocking the water supply and drainage in Hyderabad if they were not paid their salaries and pensions of last three months.
The union's members staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Thursday to raise the issue.
Speaking on the occasion, the union's General Secretary Mohammed Aslam Abbassi claimed that they had not received their salaries for three months.
He complained that every year a similar financial situation arose months before Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Azha.
The union alleged that the officials of HDA and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) were incompetent to resolve the recurrent problem for once.
He told that the WASA's Managing Director Masood Jumani offered the protesters payment of one month's salary for the month of June. However, the union rejected the offer and announced to continue the protest, he added.
