HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Aug, 2018 ) :The Sindh High Court made incumbent President of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) Shahid Soomro a respondent in the petition concerning the HCCI.
The Hyderabad Circuit Bench on Thursday heard arguments of the counsels of the petitioner Ikram Rajput and the intervener Soomro.
Soomro's lawyer advocate Riazat Ali Sahar prayed the court to make his client a party in the case while Rajput's lawyer Ishrat Lohar objected to his pleading. However, the court decided in Sahar's favour and made Soomro a party in the case.
Rajput filed the petition after he was allegedly unlawfully removed from his office of President HCCI last month. The HCCI's on its part had claimed that Rajput had submitted his resignation after which the HCCI's elected body nominated Soomro as the president.
Meanwhile, SSP Hyderabad Adeel Hussain Chandio submitted reply in the court clarifying he neither had sealed office of the HCCI nor handed over its keys to any of the two groups of businessmen in the chamber.
