MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Aug, 2018 ) :Though 25mm rainfall had brought respite to the Multanites from the hot and humid weather here on Thursday, yet it turned most of the roads into pools of water.
The rain water submerged District Jail, Ghaus-i-Azam, Chungi No 1, High Court, MDA and other roads after a heavy rain spell of around half-an-hour.
Motorists had to face a great deal of inconvenience as the traffic moved at a snail's pace.
Saleem Akhtar, Assistant Officer, Meteorological Department told APP that monsoon rain had hit Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan divisions and more showers were expected during the next 24 hours.
He said, in winter, they could monitor rain system, but in summer, excessive mist turned into clouds and sometimes it burst.
When approached, a spokesperson for Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) said that the rainfall was scattered in parts of the city and suckers were sent to the areas where water had accumulated.
