UN, Syrian Red Crescent Convoy With Aid for 7,500 Syrians Arrives in Busra - UNHCR

A joint humanitarian convoy of the United Nations and Syrian Red Crescent with aid for 7,500 people reached on Thursday the town of Busra in Syria's Daraa province, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Syria said.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th August, 2018) A joint humanitarian convoy of the United Nations and Syrian Red Crescent with aid for 7,500 people reached on Thursday the town of Busra in Syria's Daraa province, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Syria said.

"Today, the @UN and @SYRedCrescent Inter-Agency convoy reached #Busra_AlSham town in #Daraa, southern Syria to deliver much-needed nutrition, health, and UNHCRs relief items for 7,500 ppl in need and to conduct needs assessment for an informed future response to the area," the UNHCR wrote on Twitter.

Busra was recaptured by the Syrian army from militants in July.

Syria has been torn by civil war since 2011, with the government fighting numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. The countrys citizens are in dire need of humanitarian aid from the world community.
