All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra to Perform in Asia for First Time - Conductor Bashmet

The All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra led by renowned conductor Yuri Bashmet is to set out on its first tour across Asia visiting Singapore, China and South Korea, Bashmet's press service said on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th August, 2018) The All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra led by renowned conductor Yuri Bashmet is to set out on its first tour across Asia visiting Singapore, China and South Korea, Bashmet's press service said on Thursday.

The tour will be held between September 7-17 with the opening concert taking place in Moscow at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.

"The All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra was established almost seven years ago. During this time, the group performed in various Russian cities, there were two European tours ... And now we are setting out on our first tour across Asian countries, and it will right away be so full-fledged: Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul," Bashmet was quoted as saying by his press service.

The press service also said that Chinese pianist Yigdi San would be performing with the orchestra at the opening concert and a local soloist would join the orchestra in each city during the tour.

Bashmet created the orchestra in 2012 with a total of 100 musicians set to take part in the upcoming tour. The young musicians participated in the closing ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and in the opening ceremony of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
