Earlier in the day, the TOLOnews broadcaster reported, citing Hashmat Stanekzai, the spokesman for the chief of Kabul's police, that an unidentified number of attackers stormed a building near an army training center in the capital at around 10:15 a.m. local time (05:45 GMT) before opening fire at the facility.
According to the spokesman, security forces have begun clearing out the area.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
The incident comes just one day after a deadly attack on a private educational facility in the capital, which left 48 people killed and another 67 injured.
