HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Aug, 2018 ) :The Mehran Workers Union of Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) has warned of blocking the water supply and drainage in Hyderabad if they are not paid their salaries and pensions of last 3 months.
The union here on Wednesday padlocked offices of the HDA and staged a protest to pressure the authorities for payment of the salaries and pensions.Speaking on the occasion, the union's General Secretary Mohammed Aslam Abbassi claimed that they had not received their salaries for 3 months.
He complained that every year a similar financial situation arose months before the Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha.
The union alleged that the officials of HDA and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) were incompetent to resolve the recurrent problem for once.
The WASA's managing director Masood Jumani reached out to the protesters and offered them payment of one month's salary.
However, the union rejected the offer and announced to continue the protest.
