Over 650 Militants Who Left Homs Bearing Arms Now Returned to Peaceful Life - Governor

More than 650 people who did not want to lay down their arms during the truce process in the province of Homs and left for Idlib have now come back to the province and have returned to peaceful life, the regional governor said Wednesday.

HOMS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th August, 2018) More than 650 people who did not want to lay down their arms during the truce process in the province of Homs and left for Idlib have now come back to the province and have returned to peaceful life, the regional governor said Wednesday.

"At the moment, about 650 people who left the city with weapons and went to Idlib have returned. They have returned back and live at home," Talal Barazi said.

He added that those who wanted to return from Idlib needed to get to the nearest positions of the Syrian army, lay down their arms and then they would be guaranteed full security.

The northwestern Idlib province remains the last major militant stronghold after being seized by the Jabhat Fatah al Sham terrorist organization (banned in Russia) in 2015 and is currently one of Syria's de-escalation zones.
