US President Donald Trump said in a statement read during a press briefing on Wednesday by Sarah Huckabee Sanders, that he was revoking the security clearance of former of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan.
WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th August, 2018) US President Donald Trump said in a statement read during a press briefing on Wednesday by Sarah Huckabee Sanders, that he was revoking the security clearance of former of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan.
"As the head of the executive branch and commander in chief, I have a unique constitutional responsibility to protect the nations classified information, including by controlling access to it. Today in fulfilling that responsibility Ive decided to revoke the security clearance of John Brennan, former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency," the statement said.
The statement also said the security clearance of other Obama administration officials were under review, including former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, former Deputy US Attorney General Sally Yates and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
