MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th August, 2018) The German Foreign Ministry strongly condemned on Wednesday an attack on a private educational facility in the Afghan capital, which claimed lives of almost 50 people.
The blast hit the Mawoud academy in the western part of Kabul earlier in the day, killing 48 people and injuring 67 others. No local militant groups have taken responsibility for the attack so far.
"We condemn the attack on the education centre for young people in #Kabul in the strongest possible terms. Our thoughts are with the parents, families and friends of the young victims. Germany stands shoulder to shoulder with Afghanistan at this difficult time," a message on the ministry's official Twitter account read.
Afghanistan has long been destabilized by the conflict between the Taliban movement and the Afghan government, exacerbated by the activities of various terrorist groups.
