Chinese railway police have increased patrols at railway stations and in trains nationwide to fight crimes and ensure safe travels during the traditional travel rush, which runs from July 1 to Aug.

In Beijing, a team of 24 police officers was sent to major railway stations to crack down on theft.
In one case, the railway police in the city of Zhengzhou seized a suspect who was found to have stolen 10,000 Yuan (1,452 U.S. Dollars) from a passenger on a train heading from Zhengzhou to Urumqi in July.
