WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th August, 2018) The percentage of Americans who are satisfied with the direction of the country has remained stable for another month at 36-percent, after hitting a 12-year high in June, a new Gallup Poll revealed on Wednesday.
"Since hitting a 12-year high of 38 percent in June, the percentage of Americans who are satisfied with the way things are going in the US has remained near that same level, with the August reading coming in at 36 percent," the poll said.
Satisfaction averaged 27 percent in 2017, and rose to about 30 percent when the year started, according to previous Gallup polls.
Analysis of the poll said the higher numbers for 2018 may reflect positive economic news, including a lower unemployment rate.
The difference between how satisfied Republicans and Democrats are with the country was 55 percent, according to the poll.
The poll has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
