ADM receives 1,111 emergency reports, handles 9,283 calls in first half of 2018

(Pakistan Point News - 11th Aug, 2018) ABU DHABI,11th August 2018 (WAM) - The Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Office at Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has received 1,111 case reports since the beginning of 2018 until the end of June. The Office receives reports from the community members and the institutions through an around the clock hotlines.

In line with the directives of the wise leadership to provide the best services, the Municipality is giving all reports, calls and requests serious consideration. It follows them up to meet the requirements of the community in a flexible mechanism that contributes to the rapid response to all requests and communications.

The Municipality welcomed calls and reports from community members around the clock and on all weekdays through the emergency number for the Abu Dhabi City Municipality (993) and on WhatsApp (056-9939930).

During the first half of this year, the Municipality dealt with 9,283 phone calls in various areas and responded to queries from the public.

During this period, the Municipality received 150 regular reports, 810 moderately important reports, 124 urgent reports that required rapid reaction, and 27 very important reports. It has successfully dealt with all these reports efficiently and professionally.

The Municipality received 99 reports about road emergencies, 300 reports about maintenance and lighting repairing, and 391 reports about gardening, agriculture and irrigation. It had also handled 129 reports relating to rainwater drainage networks, 126 reports about the city appearance, and 66 other different reports covering various areas bringing the total number to 1,111 reports.

It had coordinated with other local authorities and strategic partners in responding to some reports and dealing with them in a team spirit, as such reports were related to more than one entity and required coordinated efforts and immediate response.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Office called upon all community members and institutions to contribute to reducing the impacts of the negative practices through calling the emergency number and reporting any unusual observations.

It also urged them to support the Municipality's efforts by demonstrating the spirit of social responsibility to create a safe, integrated and civilised living and housing environment for the entire population. The Municipality considers the happiness of the community as a strategic priority and goal, which can only be achieved by combining the community's efforts with the Municipality's mission and objectives.
