Kapil Dev, Sidhu, Sunil Gavaskar invited to Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 10th August, 2018) Former Indian cricketers Kapil Dev, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sunil Gavaskar have been invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony of incoming prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

This was confirmed by PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan in a tweet on Friday.

“Cricket legends from India and Kaptaan's old friends Kapil Dev, Sidhu and Sunil Gavaskar have been invited to attend Oath Taking Ceremony of Pakistan's PM Imran Khan,” he wrote.

The cricketers had also expressed their wish to attend Imran Khan's oath-taking ceremony if they are invited.

PTI chairman Imran Khan, who has secured a simple majority in the polls required to form his government, is set to take the oath of prime minister on August 18.

Moreover, there were reports that the cricketing champions of 1992 World Cup will also be invited to the oath-taking ceremony of prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan.

According to media reports, a decision has been taken to invite the 1992 World Cup cricket team to the oath-taking ceremony of PTI chairman Imran Khan.

Senator Faisal Javed said that Imran Khan wants to invite the winning team of 1992 World Cup. The cricketers of the 1992 world cup team, including Aamir Sohail, Aaqib Javed, Ijaz Ahmed, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Wahid Gaba, Javed Miandad, Moin Khan, Mushtaq Ahmed, Rameez Raja, Saleem Malik, Wasim Akram, Wasim Haider, Iqbal Sikandar and Zahid Fazal will be invited.
