PTI prepares plan to form government in Punjab

The PTI has finalised the names for Leader of the House and Deputy Speaker

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 9th August, 2018) The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formed a strategy to form government in Punjab with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ).

The PTI got in a position to form government in Punjab after getting the support of PMLQ and independent candidates. The PTI has finalised the Names for Leader of the House and Deputy Speaker while Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has been nominated for Punjab Assembly speaker.

Pervaiz Elahi contacted the newly elected MPAs yesterday as week. Besides PMLQ, the lawmakers belonging to PPP, PMLN and other members have also assured Pervaiz Elahi of their support.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that a party member having spotless character would be nominated for the office of Punjab chief minister (CM).

"I am going to name a young chief minister in Punjab in a day or two. You should all support my nominee," Imran said during a meeting of newly-elected PTI members of the Punjab Assembly.

He said the decision would be purely based on merit. "I will name a candidate of a clean reputation, who will not even have a single corruption charge against him." Imran Khan congratulated the newly elected members of provincial and national assemblies on winning a difficult election and said the party would have to improve its ticket awarding system. "Many people were not given party tickets but they won," he said.

"We pledge to make Pakistan a welfare state in its truest sense, as established by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) hundreds of years ago. A state can be transformed into a welfare state only through justice, rule of law and meritocracy," the PTI chairman said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to bring out the under privileged and weak segments of the society of the poverty trap by providing them special incentives as were offered by a welfare state.

Imran Khan said that since 1970, this was the first time in the country's history when people voted for an ideology. Criticizing both PML-N and PPP he stated that people made example out of the two parties for deviating from ideology and serving their personal agendas.

Moreover, he stated that the masses would reject those who came into politics to serve their personal interests.

He urged the assembly members to work tirelessly for the betterment of the masses stating that PTI's government performance would wipe out other parties from the political arena.
