Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th August, 2018) The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalized Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s name for National Assembly speaker while the party has nominated Imran Khan for the prime minister.
Commenting on this, senior journalist Muhammad Malik said that Shah Mehmood Qureshi is not happy over this position and he still wants to be the Punjab chief minister.
He wants to appoint someone temporarily as Punjab CM and contest the by-election due in 90 days and get elected as the chief minister.
Two Names were being considered for Punjab CM, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Arif Alvi. The NA speaker has to bear harsh comments from the MNAs. For this position, someone who can speak both for the government and opposition is needed.
The journalist said that Arif Alvi was a better choice for this position.
About Imran Ismail being appointed as Sindh governor, he said that this is a good choice. He is quite a decent man but I think Imran Ismail is also not interested in becoming the governor.
Muhammad Malik further said that Imran Khan had offered president-ship to Pervaiz Khattak but he had denied.
The PTI is holding a parliamentary meeting today, being attended by all newly-elected MNAs and senators belonging to the party.
Sources said that the party has finalized Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s name for the speaker of National Assembly. Imran Khan made him agree to the position, sources said. Moreover, sources said that Imran Ismail is likely to be announced Sindh governor during the meeting.
