Jordanian Minister of Health inaugurates building of Princess Aisha Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences at AHU in Ma’an

As a representative of H.H. Princess Muna Al Hussein, Dr. Mahmoud Al Sheyyab, Jordanian Minister of Health, inaugurated the building of the Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences at Al Hussein bin Talal University, AHU, in Ma’an, which was established with the financial support from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, ADFD.

MA’AN, (Pakistan Point News - 02nd Aug, 2018) As a representative of H.H. Princess Muna Al Hussein, Dr. Mahmoud Al Sheyyab, Jordanian Minister of Health, inaugurated the building of the Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences at Al Hussein bin Talal University, AHU, in Ma’an, which was established with the financial support from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, ADFD.

The launch was attended by Faisal Ahmed Al Malik, Advisor at the UAE Embassy in Amman and Representative of the ADFD.

Dr. Najib Abou Karaki, President of the university, said that establishing the faculty’s building is an important addition to the university’s journey to become a regional centre of medical advancement while expressing his appreciation for the UAE, represented by the ADFD, for its support.

Dr. Hani Al Nawafleh, Dean of the Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences, said that the faculty was created to keep pace with international scientific advancements, and added that the university will offer other health and medical programmes, as well as Master’s programmes in nursing.

He explained that the faculty supplies the country’s southern region with nursing staff, as it is suffering from a shortage, and teaches specialisations, such as medical analyses and radiography, as part of its Master’s programmes in nursing. The number of students studying at the faculty is 835 while 700 have already graduated, he said in conclusion.
