Condolence Reference To Pay Homage To International Karate Player Samad Afridi

The Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with FATA Olympic Association and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association organized condolence reference to pay tribute to international karate player Abdul Samad Afridi who was recently killed by unknown gunmen in Bara Tehsil of Khyber Agency.
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Aug, 2018 ) :The Directorate of sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with FATA Olympic Association and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association organized condolence reference to pay tribute to international karate player Abdul Samad Afridi who was recently killed by unknown gunmen in Bara Tehsil of Khyber Agency.
Abdul Samad Afridi Shaheed recently represented Pakistan in the international event in Azerbaijan besides participating in 5th Asian Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan, Asian Karate Championship in Turkey, Iran and Malaysia.
Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan, President FATA Olympic Association Shahid Khan Shinwari, Secretary General FATA Olympic Association and former international karate player Rehman Gul Afridi, Secretary KP Olympic Association Zulfiqar Ali Butt, President and Members of the KP Sports Writers Association, father of late Abdul Samad Afridi, elder son of Samad Afridi, Karate Master Shahidzada Abdul Hadi and other players attended the ceremony.
Speaking on this occasion, Director General Junaid Khan while paying tribute to Shaheed Abdul Samad Afridi, termed the brutal killing of Abdul Samad Khan a great loss.
Abdul Samad was a great asset for the country. He also gave a cheque of Rs. 0.1 million to his son and assured him more support to his widow, two sons and two daughters. He also requested the Governor KP for extending support to Abdul Samad Afridi so that his children could be able to go to school.
President FATA Olympic Association Shahid Khan Shinwari and Secretary FATA Olympic Association Rehmat Gul Afridi paid rich tribute to the late Abdul Samad and termed his demise a great loss to the promotion of Karate in FATA. He said late Abdul Samad Afridi was very much dedicated to the promotion of Karate in FATA region and that is why he is imparting coaching and training to hundreds of players not only in Bara Tehsil but in Landikotal and Jamrud Tehsil as well.
He said Samad was a black-belt player but he learned coaching and training skills from grand master Rehmat Gul Afridi and imparted it to others in FATA. As a player and coach with good organizational skills, he always worked hard and opened the doors of his Karate Club to promote the game in FATA despite of worst situation of militancy and insurgency, he said.
Late, Samad Afridi's grand master, Rehmat Gul also expressed deep shock over the sad demise of Abdul Samad Khan Afridi and demanded of the government to extend full support to the family of late international karate player Abdul Samad Khan Afridi and apprehend his killer.
Later, Quran Khawani and Dua was held for the blessing of the soul of Shaheed Abdul Samad Afridi. The meeting condoled over the death of late Abdul Samad Afridi and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
