ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Aug, 2018 ) :The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed objections raised by Registrar office on a plea challenging the recent population census in Karachi and to revise the delimitations there.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar removed the objections after hearing the petitioner, Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairperson Mustafa Kamal, in his chambers.
The CJP also directed the office to fix the petition for hearing in open court after court holidays.
Mustafa Kamal, in his petition, submitted that the registered number of people in Karachi was 20.15 million according to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). However, the census showed the mega city's population as 10.60 million as the census was not held in many parts of the metropolis, he alleged.
