COAS Bajwa lauds armed forces’ role in general elections

Pays tribute to martyrs and injured who sacrificed their blood during the process

Rawalpindi (Pakistan Point News – 1st August, 2018) Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has appreciated efforts of the Army Elections Support Centre (AESC) and field formations for assisting Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as per assigned mandate for holding general elections 2018.

The army chief was presiding over the 212th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

According to the ISPR, the forum reviewed geo-strategic environment, regional peace and internal security situation of the country.

The COAS directed commanders to continue consolidating the gains of efforts against terrorism and militancy. The forum expressed satisfaction on progress of military level engagements with Afghanistan for regional peace especially through Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace & Stability (APAPPS), the statement issued by the ISPR said.

It also paid tribute to all martyrs and injured who sacrificed their blood during the process, the ISPR added.

The forum also thanked brave people of Pakistan for their participation and whole hearted support for the armed forces during performance of their duty towards national cause.
