PITB has no link and participation in RTS system.
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 28th July, 2018) Punjab Information Technology board (PITB) Chairman Dr Umar Saif has responded to the propaganda being done against him for the delay in election results.
Dr Umar Saif said that the Results Transmission System (RTS) for general elections 2018 was never developed by PITB. Instead, it was established by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
PITB Chairman Dr Umar Saif further said that some people are trying to give the impression that the RTS is developed by PITB, whereas PITB has no link and participation in this system.
The RTS system was specifically developed to ensure swift result transmission.
Chief Election Commissioner Justice (r) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan had on Thursday explained that the delay in the announcement of election results by the ECP was due to pressure on the RTS.
He said this technology (RTS) was used by the ECP for the first time under the new law.
He said the use of RTS caused only two hours' delay in the announcement of results by the ECP.
