PTI denies taking PPP's support in forming federal govt

PTI spokesperson Naeem ul Haque has said that there is no possibility of a coalition with the PPP.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 27th July, 2018) The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has brushed aside the reports of forming a coalition government with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

PTI spokesperson Naeem ul Haque has said that there is no possibility of a coalition with the PPP.

“We will announce about forming the government in a day or two. We have the numbers. The majority is with PTI, we will form the Federal government,” he said.

"We have the support of independent candidates from Punjab. PTI has emerged as second biggest party in Sindh,” the PTI spokesperson added.

Earlier, there were reports that the PTI has decided to seek the support of PPP to form its government in centre.

According to a local tv channel, sources said that the PTI has started contacting other parties for forming a federal government.

According to results announced on Election Commission's website, Imran Khan-led PTI has won 115 National Assembly seats, emerging as the largest political force in general elections 2018.

The PTI has however remained a few seats behind in getting a simple majority. Therefore, it now needs support from other parties or independent candidates to form its government.
