I will make policies to empower the weaken: Imran Khan gives victory speech

PTI chairman Imran Khan addressed the nation in Islamabad on Thursday.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 26th July, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan stood victorious in all five National Assembly seats while his party has emerged as the biggest political party in general elections 2018.

According to unofficial results announced so far, Imran Khan-led PTI is in a winning position and is likely to form a majority government.

In his victory speech, PTI chairman Imran Khan addressed the nation in Islamabad on Thursday.

“After my struggle phase, Allah has given me a chance to fulfil my dream,” he began.

“It was a historic election. People gave sacrifices. I want to pay tribute to the people of Balochistan for fighting terrorism. This is a democratic evolution in Pakistan. Despite all the difficulties, including the killing Ikram Gandapur and Haroon Bilour were martyred, we contested the elections,” he said.

Governance

In what sort of Pakistan Imran Khan wants to see, he said that he wants to introduce a welfare system where state takes responsibility of its people.

The PTI chairman said that he will make policies to empower the weaken, labourers and farmers.

“Our women die of maternal mortality. We have the highest rate of infant mortality due to unclean drinking water,” he said.

"I want the entire Pakistan to unite. Nobody had to face the personal attacks like I did in the past years. I request our opponents to leave everything behind. Our goal is bigger than this," he added.

He went on to say, "We will strengthen the institutions so much that accountability will begin from me and then my ministers."

He pledged that we will develop such a governance system that will bring betterment for the people of Pakistan. "I want to empower the suppressed segment of society, including women, minorities and servants," he said.

Economy

Our economy is declining because of dysfunctional institutions, he said, adding that overseas Pakistanis are our biggest asset. We will provide them such a system that they will invest in Pakistan.

"I pledge to protect the taxes paid by people. We will save the money. I don't want to live in luxurious PM House," Imran Khan said.

We will bring skills education for the youth so they can find jobs. All our resources will be invested in human development, he added.

Foreign Policy

About foreign policy, Imran Khan said, "Foreign policy is our biggest challenge. We want better relations with all the neighbours.

Afghanistan has lost the most in war on terror. They need peace. Peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan. Our government will make all efforts to bring peace in Afghanistan. I want mutually beneficial relations with the US.

Iran and Saudi Arabia are our friends. We will try to play a role of conciliation in middle East.

Coming to India, I think if our relations with India are better, it will be most beneficial for sub-continent. Kashmir is our core issue. We are at square one on the blame-game. I am ready to better the ties with India. It is so far a one-sided relationship, they blame Pakistan for terrorism in the world. Our issues can be resolved through dialogue."

Election Rigging

About allegations of election rigging, Imran Khan said that he is ready to investigate them.

"The present Election Commission was appointed by two leading parties - PPP and PMLN while the caretaker government is also forrmed by the consent of all the parties," he said.

"In 2013 elections, there were 400 petitions of rigging. I demanded to reopen four Constituencies. Today I am saying that I am ready to investigate rigging allegations," Khan added.

Concluding his speech asking for prayers, Imran Khan said, "I once again thank the people of Pakistan for electing me and I request them to pray that Allah give me enough power that I fulfill all my promises."
