Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 26th July, 2018) All-rounder cricketer Shahid Afridi has congratulated Imran Khan upon his victory in the 2018 general elections.
In his tweet on Thursday, Afridi said that Khan’s 22-year-old struggle has finally paid off. He hoped that Khan will meet the expectations of people.
The cricketer requested all opposition parties and media to accept election results and help rebuild the country.
“Congrat PTI and @ImranKhanPTI on a truly historic victory! The 22 yr old struggle has finally paid off & deservedly. Pakistanis have a lot of expectations from u I really hope u lead from the front! I request all opposing parties& media to accept the result and help rebuild 🇵🇰” he wrote.
According to unofficial results announced so far, Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in a winning position and is likely to form a majority government.
In what will probably be his victory speech, PTI chairman Imran Khan will address the nation at 2pm today.
