ICC UAE reviews plans of ADGM

During its visit to the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Global Market, ADGM, a delegation from the Board of Directors of the International Chamber of Commerce, ICC, UAE, led by Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Chairman of the Board of Directors, was briefed about the key achievements and successes of the ADGM and its long-term plans.

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 25th Jul, 2018) During its visit to the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Global Market, ADGM, a delegation from the Board of Directors of the International Chamber of Commerce, ICC, UAE, led by Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Chairman of the Board of Directors, was briefed about the key achievements and successes of the ADGM and its long-term plans.

The delegation, which was received by Dhaher bin Dhaher Al Muhairi, CEO of the Registration Authority of the ADGM, toured the market and explored its key achievements since its launch in October 2015, which included being awarded the title of "Best Financial Centre in the middle East and North Africa" during its first year. They also reviewed the latest technologies used by the ADGM, which include an e-portal and innovative tech services to manage judicial services.

The chamber's board of directors held its regular meeting in the capital, Abu Dhabi, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Abu Dhabi, to discuss a range of topics related to the work of its specialist committees, its work plan for the second half of 2018, its relations with other local, regional and international chambers, and the schedule of its upcoming meetings, as well as other related topics.

Humaid bin Salem said that the chamber fulfilled its role during the first half of the current year as one of the business community’s key institutions, by supporting the country’s economic and social development process.

He added that the UAE’s progress in the "World's Competitiveness Report 2018" reflects the capacities of the national economy, especially as such reports are key indicators of economic performance and progress, as well as improvements to the investment environment and infrastructure development.

He stressed that the coming period will witness various activities organised by the chamber, including specialist workshops on the global commercial economy, translations of international publications, specialised conferences and events on global business experiences, as well as the seventh seminar on commercial funding that will be held by the chamber’s banking committee, and workshops on exporting and importing under the "Interim Admission Agreement," which will be held in Abu Dhabi, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah.

The chamber will also participate in the general meeting of the "Global Commerce Chambers Council," which will be hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 21st and 22nd November, 2018, he said in conclusion.
