Wives of ambassadors awarded honorary memberships to Abu Dhabi Ladies Club

Several wives of ambassadors to the UAE thanked H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), for awarding them honorary membership to the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club.

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2018) Several wives of ambassadors to the UAE thanked H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), for awarding them honorary membership to the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club.

They also thanked Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the board of Directors of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, and President of the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Ladies Clubs, for supporting their honorary membership to the club, which was launched recently.

The Polish Ambassador’s wife, Bozena Rostik, Chairwoman of Diplomatic Group for Spouses of Ambassadors in the UAE, said that they appreciated the gesture and are honoured to visit the academy while thanking Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza for giving them the opportunity to become members of the club, which will enable them to make new friends and encourage each other to practice sports.

Sarah Abbas, Wife of the Sudanese Ambassador, thanked Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak and Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza for enabling them to join the club and encouraging women to practice sports.

She said that it is not unusual for the "Mother of the UAE" to support and enhance the stature of women in the community.

Brit Spyrou, Wife of the Australian Ambassador, thanked Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak and Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza for their hospitality.

She added that the vision of academy resembles the vision of similar academies in Australia, which aim to support women and girls and encourage them to participate in sports and take a leading role in this sector.

She expressed her desire to establish relations and partnerships with Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza, through the academy, and the other ambassadors’ wives, to highlight the advancement and stature of women and their empowerment in the community.

The wives of the ambassadors of countries that include Australia, Bangladesh, Fiji, Kosovo, Poland, South Africa and Sudan, with the arrangement and participation of the GWU, toured the halls of the club and viewed its facilities.
