RCB Hygiene Check; 28 Notices Issued To Food Outlets

RAWALPINDI, Jul 19 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2018 ) :The Food Branch of Rawalpindi Cantonment board (RCB) has issued 28 notices to food outlets for unhygienic and poor cleanliness conditions.
According to RCB spokesman, Qaiser Mahmood, the RCB team on the directives of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) conducted raids in Peshawar Road, Chor Chowk, Range Road and Masrial Road areas and served notices to 28 food points.
He informed that the Cantt Judicial Magistrate imposed fines amounting to Rs 45,000 on eight food outlets as the food samples collected from the food points were unhygienic and low quality.Total 300 food samples were collected during last month which were sent to lab for quality test while over Rs 399,900 fines including Rs 110,500 composition fee were also imposed on rules violators.
The cases of substandard food items were also sent to the court of the cantonment magistrate which imposed fines on the rules violators.The food Inspectors on the directive of the CEO conducting surprise visits of different markets to check quality of food items at food outlets.
He said, the teams also imposed fines on the stall holders and vendors for unhygienic food andpoor cleanliness condition. The raids would continue, he said adding that the teams were directed toalso check the health of the workers serving at the food outlets.
