In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has asked the United Nations and international community to take measures for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute as the issue poses a serious threat to the regional as well as global peace.
Srinagar, (Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2018) : In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has asked the United Nations and international community to take measures for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute as the issue poses a serious threat to the regional as well as global peace. According to Kashmir Media Service, an APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the UN has a great role to play in creating atmosphere conducive for settlement of the decade-old dispute.
He asked the global community to impress upon India to shun its stubborn attitude and accept ground reality regarding the Kashmir dispute. The APHC spokesman said the prevailing tension between India and Pakistan betrays a war like situation. He said Kashmir issue poses a threat to world peace and is proving to be a big obstacle for peace, prosperity and development in the region. "War and inconsistencies are no options; instead they cause devastation and destruction.
Both India and Pakistan are nuclear powers and any flare up can prove extremely fatal," he added The spokesman expressed deep shock and grief over the death of nine people in a tragic incident in Reasi area of Poonch. Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Chairman, Bilal Siddiqi, in a statement termed the arrest of Hurriyat leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and prolonging the detention of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chief, Aasiya Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi by the so-called NIA court in New Delhi as the worst kind of political vendetta.
He said that India could not frighten the resistance leaders by implicating them in fabricated cases. "It would have been better for New Delhi and its policy-makers to revisit India's long occupation of Jammu and Kashmir," he added. The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League at a meeting in Baramulla discussed the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir. The meeting was chaired by Abdul Ahad Parray.
