High level meeting held for election arrangements in Faisalabad

A meeting was held here Monday with District Returning Officer/District and Sessions Judge Abdul Nasir in the chair to review the security and administrative arrangements for general election 2018 in Faisalabad.

Focal Persons/Additional District & Sessions Judges Afzal Majoka, Shakil Ahmad Sapra, Senior Civil Judge Admin Muhammad Usman Awan, Divisional Commissioner Asif Iqbal, RPO Ghulam Mehmud Dogar, Deputy Commissioner Syed Ahmed Fawad, CPO Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, SSP Operation Haider Sultan, ADCR Mehmud Ahmad, CTO Ibrar Hussain, Secretary RTA Tasawar Niazi and others were also present in the meeting.

The DRO/District & Sessions Judge said foolproof security arrangements should be made at the time of distribution of election material among the polling staff.

He stressed the need for providing all security gadgets including walk through gates at the premises of session courts for peaceful distribution of election material.

He said comprehensive and solid transport plan should also be devised for polling staff. Special numbers should be affixed on the vehicles as per the details of the polling stations for the guidance of polling staff and proper arrangements should be made for parking of the vehicles engaged in election duties.

He said facilitation counters should be set up besides providing sound system for dissemination of information to the concerned staff.

The DRO advised that the traffic management plan should be chalked out for diversion of traffic and it should be publicized for the awareness of the general public.

He stressed the need for completing installation of CCTV Cameras at the sensitive polling stations immediately.

He said close liaison was imperative among the concerned officers of judiciary, district administration and police for avoiding any vacuum in the election arrangements.
