Uninterrupted Electricty Can End Traders Problems: IC&T Minister

Caretaker Provincial Minister for Industry Commerce and Trade (IC&T) Mian Anjum Nisar said Monday that uninterrupted supply of electricity could eliminate many problems faced by industries across the province.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2018 ) :Caretaker Provincial Minister for Industry Commerce and Trade (IC&T) Mian Anjum Nisar said Monday that uninterrupted supply of electricity could eliminate many problems faced by industries across the province.
Chairing a meeting here at new Minister Block, he said that in this connection, the role of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) crucial and it must take more effective measures to ensure proper power supply.
LESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mujahid Pervaiz Chattha, representatives of Sundar Industrial Estate (SIE), Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate (QIE), trade bodies of Ferozpur Road and Sheikhupura were also present. On this occasion, traders apprised the LESCO chief, in the presence of Minister,their issues pertaining to electricity.
They complained that long duration of load-shedding, tripping, over-billing and a number of other related issues had badly affected their businesses and the industrial production.
The representative of SIE added that the respective industrialists of the SIE had deposited a collective amount of Rs 17 million with the company in 2006 but they had yet to receive demand notices.
LESCO Chief assured to all traders that all their legal issues would be resolved on priority basis. He also requested the traders to register their problems in the online complaint system of LESCO.
Provincial Minister Mian Anjum Nisar said that regarding the online system, there is a need to conduct awareness campaigns among the traders' community so that problems could be resolved across the Punjab. He directed the LESCO Chief to make necessary steps for continuous supply of electricity in the industries.
