RIYADH, (Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2018) The official spokesman of the Coalition Forces (Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen), Col. Turki Al-Maliki, stated that at 12:52, the Royal Saudi Air Defence detected the launch of a ballistic missile by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia from Sa'ada governorate aimed at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, Col. Al-Maliki said that the missile was launched deliberately to target densely populated areas. The Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces managed to intercept and destroy it, resulting in the fall of fragments throughout some residential areas. However, no damage was caused.

The spokesman added that this hostile act carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia proves that the Iranian regime continues to be involved in supporting the Iranian-backed Houthi armed militias with qualitative capabilities in clear and explicit defiance of UN resolutions 2216 and 2231 in order to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia as well as the regional and international security.

The firing of ballistic missiles at densely populated cities and villages is contrary to international and humanitarian law.
